Bricket Wood

A warm welcome from the Bricket Wood Congregation of the United Church of God (UCG)

If you are considering visiting or just wondering what it’s like to meet with a UCG congregation, then hopefully this page will begin to answer some of your questions and encourage you to get in touch.

Our friendly congregation is made up of different age groups from different places and different social backgrounds drawn together by a common purpose; living and sharing the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

We meet on the weekly Sabbath (Saturday) at 12.30pm in the St Stephen Parish Centre, Station Road, Bricket Wood AL2 3PJ.

Sabbath Services?

Coming together on the Sabbath was God’s instruction from the beginning, Leviticus 23:3. In Hebrews 10:23-25 it warns against “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.” It tells us that assembling together is to help us to “hold fast” to our faith, to “consider one another”, to encourage and provoke one another to “do good works”.

What you can expect

Our service format is with prayers, hymn singing and messages based on the Bible.

The service normally lasts about 90 minutes and afterwards there is the opportunity to enjoy some light refreshments and fellowship. If you wish you can listen to a typical sermon here, www.ucg.org/sermons. Doing so will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Watch on Zoom

If you can’t make it in person because of distance or health issues, then it is possible to join in by watching the service on-line via Zoom; you will need a passcode to access the site.

Get in touch

It is not unusual to be a bit apprehensive about coming to Sabbath services for the first time. So why not have a chat with one of our Elders, they are easy to talk to and will answer any questions you may have.
