Toilets/restrooms: Situated at the end of the main hotel corridor. Please remember that the hotel is open to the public and do not let children wander about the building unaccompanied.

Etiquette for services: Consider these guidelines, based on biblical principles of courtesy and respect:

Be on time: While a few brethren will occasionally be late for the Church services, regularly coming late to services without a legitimate reason shows a lack of respect for both God and the membership. Please do your best to be on time each day.

Hymns: Singing praises to God is the actual beginning of our services honouring God.

Mobile/cell phones: Should be turned off or put on vibrate during Church services. If it is necessary to answer a call during services, you should do so outside the meeting hall so as not to disturb others around you.

Computer/Video Games: Whether to allow any video games at services is a parental choice. However, many are not quiet and can be distracting. If a child is old enough to play a video game, he or she is likely old enough to learn from the service, with no need for entertainment from phones or video devices.

Clothing: What kind of clothing is appropriate for Church services? We should come before God wearing our best. Our attire should be modest and such that it shows the proper respect for worshipping before God.

Fragrance allergies: Due to an increasing number of people with sensitivities and allergies to fragrances, we are requesting brethren to avoid wearing perfumes, after-shaves, scented hair spray, etc, to services and indoor activities.

Sickness: Members who might experience any contageous illness during the Feast are askied not to attend services until they recover. The services will be available on Zoom. Please contact the Feast Information Desk regarding anointing.

Applause for special music: The United Church of God requests that its members do not applaud for sermonettes, sermons or special music during the Feast. One exception to this request continues to be the performance of the children’s choir. While special music is being performed, entering or exiting seating should be limited to necessary movement. Please respect those presenting the music.

Announcements: Anyone needing to have an activity announced may collect announcement forms from the Feast Information Desk. Please hand them in to an announcement coordinator at the desk at least 15 minutes before the start of the service. Please keep announcements brief, succinct and relevant.

Children’s activity books: We are planning to have Festival workbooks, activity sheets or colouring books of some sort for younger children. These will be available from the Feast Information Desk at registration.

Children’s Sabbath lesson: Parents, please listen for an announcement regarding a special Sabbath lesson for younger children.

Children’s activity: At Bonkerz fun centre, a children’s soft play centre, on the afternoon of Wednesday 8th October for children of ages up to 12. Please meet at 1:40 pm in the hotel lounge near the reception desk, ahead of a 10-minute walk to the venue. Parents, for further information please contact James Tonks.

Activities for older children and teens: Please listen for announcements regarding supervised activities away from the Feast hotel.

Getting together: With several Feast attendees being on their own during the Feast, please listen for announcements encouraging families and groups to invite someone who is on their own to join them for a meal or an activity. The Feast information desk will work to coordinate joining those inviting with those being invited.

Feast greetings cards: Please listen for announcements regarding signing greating cards to be sent to members at home unable to attend the Feast. These cards need to be signed to be mailed before the Feast ends.

Lost and Found: Ushers will leave any items they find at the Feast Information Desk. If you think you may have lost an item, or if you’ve found an item, please check there. You could also ask at the hotel’s Reception desk.

Safety: St George’s Hotel has staff on duty at all times. Ushers will also be aware of emergency procedures. In case of an emergency, please follow their instructions. Please also listen to any safety announcements, including what to do in response to the fire alarm.

Unless you have a designated responsibility, please try not to arrive for services more than 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows some quiet time for special music rehearsals and sound checks. Children must be supervised at all times. Remember that the hotel is a public building.

Donations, payments, Holy Day offerings

Personal cheques or traveller’s cheques in pounds sterling should be made payable to “United Church of God.” We respectfully request all cash donations made to the Church, including Holy Day offerings, to only be in UK pounds sterling.

The United Church of God has been inviting its members and supporters in the British Isles to make their Holy Day offerings directly to the Church, ideally by direct bank transfer. We would like to request that members attending the Feast of Tabernacles in Llandudno this year continue to do this. However, as this may not be practical for everyone, and especially for visitors from overseas, offerings will also be taken up on the two Holy Days in the usual way.

Offering envelopes will be available at the Information Desk. Please print clearly on the envelope the date and amount. If you require a receipt, or if you are a British taxpayer and would like your offering to count towards the Gift Aid scheme, it is essential that you also write your name and address on the envelope. To assist with accounting, an offering for the First Day should be labelled HD6, and an offering for the Eighth Day labelled HD7.

Chronicling the activities of Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry, the book of John points out that when the “Feast of Tabernacles was at hand,” Jesus Himself “went up to the feast” and taught at the Temple in Jerusalem. This was done in observance of the final of three annual Festival seasons that are outlined in the Bible, particularly in the book of Leviticus. These three seasons, the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Pentecost and the Autumn Festival season, were all observed by Jesus and the first-century Church. The latter season is capped by the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles and the Eighth Day. (Leviticus 23:33-36).
